It’s that time of the year again: around the world, all governments need a budget, and Turkey is no exception. Budgetary talks will begin on October 23, 2025.
FYI: This is how it happens in Türkiye: first, all ministries present their budgets in the Planning and Budget Commission. Later, the talks continue in the General Assembly.
The first session will cover:
“Presentation by the Executive of the 2026 Central Government Budget Bill and the 2024 Central Government Final Accounts Bill to the Planning and Budget Commission.”
The Vice President of Turkey, Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz, will present on behalf of the executive branch.
Later, the budgetary talks of the following institutions will take place:
· October 31, 2025 – Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM)
· November 4, 2025 – Ministry of Industry and Technology
· November 5, 2025 – Ministry of Trade

Although I will try to share Turkish news five times a day, I’ll be gone for a month or two — like Clark Kent/Superman — because I’ll be joining and assisting our esteemed members of parliament in opposing the 2026 budget and asking questions during the sessions. Poke and wake your political officials, and alert companies that want to invest in Türkiye! There will be lots of discussions during the sessions, and you can find many clues about the future of Türkiye.
Sleepless nights listening to Tyla, Rosalía, Kylie Minogue, Ezhel, Lvbel C5, Ebru Gündeş, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, MANIFEST, Edis, Melike Şahin, Gogol Bordello, Billy Joel, Kenan Doğulu remixes, and Tarkan start now.
Maybe — and this is a big maybe — I’ll share some reports later. You can also find them under the Opposition Opinion/Statement of Dissent (‘muhalefet şerhi’) once the budget passes in parliament. It might be interesting for readers to see how the process evolves.
Happy New Year and Merry Christmas!
For those feeling homesick and unable to go home or visit a Christmas market, you should watch It’s a Wonderful Life(1946), directed by Frank Capra. The movie will melt your heart.
Peace be upon you, your family, and all of humanity.
See you soon.
Hope 2026 will be a great year for all of us as humankind.
